Collection: Florian Nöthe

Born in Munich in 1995, Florian Nöthe lives and works as a visual artist in Munich. His works move between sculpture, spatial installation and concept – they are reduced, precise and at the same time open to projections. Nöthe is interested in intermediate spaces: between form and meaning, material and idea, presence and absence.

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich in the class of Prof. Florian Pumhösl and completed his studies in 2025 as a master student. Since then, his works have been shown in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad – including at the Goethe-Institut Athens, the Mumok Vienna, the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, as well as in New York, Vienna, Toscolano Maderno and Munich.

Nöthe's works are quiet but determined. They demand a certain slowness, a close look – and precisely in their restraint, they open up new perspectives on what surrounds us.

Q&A with the artists:

The exhibition ARTIFICIAL? Traces of the Present brings together works that question our perception. Reality appears not as a given, but as something that is constantly being appropriated. ARTIFICIAL? questions whether what we see and experience is not always already made, constructed, and mediated.
